New walks leaders needed

The task of leading walks for OFS is falling on an ever decreasing number of members. For each six month period there are 26 weekends so if there is to be a walk at the weekend as well as one midweek then more leaders are needed so that 50 walks can be offered, it is not fair to ask a small number of leaders to be leading a walk every month in order for there to be a full programme. Meet at the Hare Pub, High Street, in Milton-under-Wychwood. Park considerately in the village. The first part of the walk is on the west side of the River Evenlode passing through woods and a nature reserve near Bruern Abbey. The return is along more open ways to Fifield and back to Milton. A stroll along the Thames Path to Medley Bridge across Port Meadow to Aristotle Lane, returning via the Oxford Canal and Castle Mill stream to Folly Bridge. Coffee stop en-route. Meet at Pear Tree Service Station. Annual Coach trip to Gloucester. Morning walk about 5.0 miles, a flat walk along the banks of the River Severn. Optional pub lunch to be pre-brooked by OFS. Afternoon at leisure to explore Cathedral, Docks etc. Further details will be available at the AGM.

Meet at Wardington Church. Park on the road leading to Upper Wardington. There will be car shuffle to Mollington. This is a linear walk in conjunction with the Oxford City Ramblers Group, as part of walk along the Seven Shires Way to the northern tip of the county and along the Oxfordshire / Northamptonshire border. Bring refreshment for en-route break and a picnic. Option of pub at the end of the walk. Assistance dogs only. There is a car share option from Water Eaton P&R at 8.30 am. A circular walk from Longworth, taking in a remote section of the Thames Path, lanes and field paths, with lovely views from Harrowdown Hill. Bring refreshment for an en-route break and a picnic.
