New walks leaders needed

The task of leading walks for OFS is falling on an ever decreasing number of members. For each six month period there are 26 weekends so if there is to be a walk at the weekend as well as one midweek then more leaders are needed so that 50 walks can be offered, it is not fair to ask a small number of leaders to be leading a walk every month in order for there to be a full programme. Meet by the entrance to Odeon Cinema, off George Street, near Gloucester Green bus station. A leisurely morning walk through central north Oxford, via the Thames Path, Port Meadow and the University Parks. There will be notes on the history of the area from the Bronze Age to the present day. Bring refreshments for en route break, picnic or many places for lunch in area. A circular walk from the leader’s book Milestones to Millstones, leaving the Windmill and walking through rolling Buckinghamshire countryside passing Wootton House and on to Ludgershall.
